The gremlin (Archie), minutes before the "heist"...
Scandi@ was sitting in front of him, and he very carefully removed the prize she won from underneath her chair. You'd think that someone who would soon become a Guide would no better than to leave something on the floor in a publice locale... ;c)
Teri (who was much more camera shy in 2003) heads over to the prize table, as Grant Runs the Show :c)

Luckily for Archie, this happened before Scan obtained her ability to "ghost" miscreants!

Everyone who attended the raffle brought something that represented the area they come from.  The raffle reminded me of an IW game called Pick-Pockets...we could either grab a prize from the table or "steal" someone else's, as long as they hadn't been "stolen" from already!  It made for some interesting exchanges, LOL!

Devra & Ambie, sitting in the late afternoon shadows

We shared a LOT of laughs at the raffle!  The Poppycock I brought went over extremely well.  Time Traveler picked it originally, then it got stolen from him...and he wasn't real happy about it, but he was a good sport.  Squirrly eventually ended up with it, and he enjoyed it immensely!

I ended up winning a shot glass from St. Louis, which was just fine!  I think I'll start collecting them from wherever I travel, from now on...

Because of his work schedule and her late flight, Archie & Devra weren't able to join us until Saturday afternoon. It was wonderful, being able to meet both of them!  I was so glad that we had a little time to visit, before I had to get ready to leave for the Opry

A girl could fall in love with this smile.....

Originally, I had passed on the opportunity to go to the Opry...I was on an extremely tight budget, and figured I was lucky to be in Nashville at all!  Toward the end of the raffle, Grant announced that Slyfox & Gina had an extra ticket and would give it to the first person to ask for it!  I hesitated at first...didn't want to seem grabby, LOL...but Gambit urged me to go for it, so I did!

It was a real thrill to get to go!  My late mother was a HUGE country music fan who never had the opportunity to go to Nashville...so I kinda felt like a piece of her did get to go there, at least  :c) To Sly & Gina...thanks again for your generosity!

.....and I did.

What a shame that illusion didn't live up to reality.

Just please don't ask me what went wrong.  Archie hasn't told me, yet...and it's been over for months.

Generally speaking, I think we all enjoyed the Opry. Some were a little bothered by the last performer, who did a few ballads...they felt that the tradition of ending an Opry show on a happy note had been broken. Always a fan of the sappy ballad, I enjoyed myself...but I can see why some were a little disappointed near the end of the show, too.

My apologies for the poor quality of these Opry pics. My battery was running low...and I badly need lessons on the use of my zoom lens. I probably deleted half of the pics I took... :c(

I also had to clip these pics heavily because Grant's & Phroggie's heads were in the way, LOL...

...if we had been IW, I coulda' asked Grant to unscrew his head to I could get a few clear shots, heheheheheheheh! The silver hair you see in the lower left corner of this pic belongs to our illustrious HandsomeDJ!
